Sponsor a Child
You too can be part of the Anjali family. By providing as little as $20 USD per month you can help us to end poverty in this house.
In these difficult times it is those below or on the fringe of poverty that suffer most. The UNDP has estimated that due to the recent financial crisis more than 50 Million people around the world will fall back below the official UN poverty line currently fixed at those whose income is less that $1.50 USD per day. As poverty worsens and incomes decline, resorting to begging or child labour is often seen as the only option.
We believe that no child should be forced to beg or work. We believe that they have the right to enjoy their childhood - to learn, play, make friends and grow in a safe and happy environment. These are basic rights that no child should be denied.
At Anjali we are proud to say that none of our children is now begging and working around Siem Reap and all of our kids are regularly attending the public school system and improving.
The kids are registered at a local hospital and have regular dental and health check ups. We now have a fully operational computer lab and regular classes and our arts program is evolving to include various creative arts, from photography to drama and music.
We want this to continue and to help us in our sustainability we are looking for sponsors for all of the children attending Anjali to secure long term educational and creative opportunities for them at the centre as well as moving to support them becoming fully independent and employed.
